so then i drove on sunset boulevard
took time thinking and then putting it on
then i drove down on Hollywood boulevard

drove over through to you and to Beverly hills

though i had thought
after the cold comes a sunny day

what if la and new york had no lights
it could be the darkest of all nights
stone mountains standing tall in the dark
wishing for God to give it a spark
